Description
British / Commonwealth British 303 (mk7) issue bandoliers sold individually.Good for collections and re-enactments. Bandoliers were designed to be light, sturdy and disposable - some have manufacturers marks, some have 303 load dates. some fasteners may be missing, broken or twisted from use or storage, fabric may be stained or dirty.
Designed to hold 5 round chargers (not included) in pairs in 5 pockets to yield a supply or re-supply of 50 rounds on 10 chargers. Each Commonwealth soldier was issued 200 rounds in bandoliers and required to keep these for their rifle and to load 2 30 round magazines which they held for their section LMG. WW2 through to discontinuation of the British 303 in service (1958 through 1970).
The Button fastened examples are thought to be genuine WW2, but are unmarked.
The string fastened samples are 1950s manufacture and bore 1950s dated British ammunition.
The clip fastened examples are Mk1 / 3 pattern:
late 1940's manufacture date (post war) and 1950 dated 303 loads.
1918 manufacture stamp, one fill stamp just post war (June 45 - Dec 46)
