    Description

Bangladesh locals, Pakistan Scott 131 (2), 130b, 132b, 133a, on 1972 cover, all 5 stamps with 2 different black BANGLADESH local overprints, tied by 2 strikes of TEMPORARY PO cancels, colorful cover addressed to CALCUTTA with its CDS receiver on reverse.  Slit open at right.  Scarce modern postal history.
    Stamps of
    Pakistan
were overprinted during the March 26, 1971 and April 30, 1973 Provincial Wars period for use in
    Bangladesh
. Covers are very scarce used during the Provincial Wars period. These interesting locals are not listed in any of the major catalogs, and there are many machine printed and handstamped varieties of these local overprints that were issued for cities and towns throughout
    Bangladesh
, especially those near the Pakistan-Bangladesh border controlled by the Liberation Army, the Mukti Fouz.
