1798 Large 8 JR-4 Draped Bust dime, NGC VF details, cleaned.  From a tiny mintage of only 27,550 dimes dated 1798 of all 4 known die varieties...how many could possibly survive today?  Many experts guess that a 4% survival ratio is to be expected for the mint's earliest emissions, which would mean that a mere 1102 1798-dated dimes still exist, in all grades and conditions.  This coin is pleasing enough, having been cleaned long ago, and retoned a bit dark on part of the reverse, as seen.  Still, the coin is priced to reflect the issues!  Enjoy this rare beast!
